Library Noticeboard

We are closed on Friday 6 February to observe Waitangi Day
Upcoming library closure: Waitangi Day
All of our library branches will be closed on Friday 6 February in acknowledgement of Waitangi Day public holiday.
How to: Renew your library membership
Our standard library memberships for adults and children last for 3 years. After 3 years, we will ask you to reconfirm that your contact details with us are up to date before we renew your membership. We normally email you a reminder when this is due. Renewing is easy - give us a call or pop into a local branch when you receive your reminder email!
Tip: Errors when placing holds
If you are trying to place a hold on a popular new item in our library app or on the library catalogue, it might give you an error message (such as "The hold map does not allow this hold").
If this happens, please get in touch with your local library branch, as our librarians can place that hold for you in our library management system!

Feedback closes on Sunday 8 February 2026. All feedback will be reviewed and shared with Councillors at a workshop on Tuesday 17 February 2026, to assist them with steering and helping to develop the Long-Term Plan 2027-2037.
